Find an Egg Donor

Frozen Eggs vs. Fresh Eggs

Explore our carefully selected frozen and fresh donor eggs through Takes3, the egg donor program at Northeast Assisted Fertility Group. We are highly selective in our process, and recipients will find extensive information about each egg donor candidate in our database.

Frozen Eggs vs. Fresh Eggs

When choosing egg donation, you have two options: frozen eggs and fresh eggs. Each approach has unique benefits and considerations, and the best choice depends on your priorities, timeline, and budget.

What Are Frozen Eggs?

Unlike the fresh egg donation process, frozen eggs are ready for thawing and fertilization at any time. Frozen eggs are retrieved from donors, and stored in a cryopreservation facility associated with an IVF clinic. These eggs are grouped into batches or “lots.” You select a donor profile and select one or more lots of her frozen eggs. Benefits of frozen eggs include immediate availability, as frozen eggs are ready to use, allowing you to start treatment without waiting for egg donor stimulation or cycle synchronization.

What Are Fresh Eggs?

Fresh egg donation requires a process that often takes about three months: you choose a donor who goes to your clinic for the screening tests, stimulation course, and retrieval. All the eggs retrieved in that cycle are available for your use.

A drawback to fresh eggs is that the the process will take at least a few months, and can be disrupted if the donor does not pass the screening or if she has a schedule change.

The Advantages of Takes3 Frozen Eggs

We realize that the eggs from large-operation frozen banks may be cheaper. This is because they work only with local egg donors who are paid considerably less. The advantages offered by our frozen egg program are the selection of highly attractive and educated donors, convenience, time savings, and flexibility. Our frozen eggs are available for shipment to outside clinics and we partner with a top-tier lab known for its stringent protocols and commitment to excellence.

You can find our frozen egg donors by selecting “frozen eggs” in the search field of the Takes3 egg donor database.
